Street paintings are approximately 7' tall. It can take two days ( 10
hours each day), and you are almost always on your knees! The finished
drawing is sprayed with a fixative (hair spray) that will help keep the
chalk from blowing away. However, foot traffic and rain will destroy it
quickly. Street painting was started in Italy. Read
more about the madonnari here .

St. Cecilia, artist unknown.
We are sadly reminded of what happens to
chalk art when it rains! 20 hours to create and only a 5 minute
Florida rain to wipe it away. |
