About

Rosa Villa is a native of Milan, Italy and has a Masters Degree in Scenography (set design) from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan. She also has degrees in photography, advertising and art instruction. While growing up, she also worked with her mother, a trained fashion designer, and had created outfits and costumes for various people and theaters in the Milan area. Rosa works as a costume designer creating outfits for local theaters, theme parks and has done work for the Orlando Opera in Florida. When not designing, she creates works of art with chalk, soft pastels, pencil and oils.

Rosa first came to Orlando, FL after Disney came to her school and selected her to be a chalk artist in the Italian Pavilion at EPCOT. In 1999, she was a featured artist in convention receptions throughout Walt Disney World. Rosa has experience using fabrics, watercolor, acrylic, chalk, pencil, oil and mosaics. In 2005, she was a featured artist for the opening of the Mona Lisa Hotel in Celebration, Florida.

Rosa is a member of the Central Florida Chalk Artists Association and regularly participates in events around Central Florida, including Disney's Festival of the Masters at Walt Disney World.

She also has an interest in American Indian costumes. Her thesis in the academy was on American Indian materials and decoration. A few examples of her work can be seen in the pencil gallery.

Rosa has also spent time creating murals in the Orlando area with a local artist that has been painting for over 7 years in Florida. Although many styles were represented, her favorite is the Italian Renaisance.
